New Appointments

The project took another step forward this week with the appointment of two Heritage Education Officers, Nicola Stewart and Maria Kirk

Nicola comes with a background of working in education primarily at key stages 1 & 2. Her more recent assignments was as an historical research tutor for a small local charity engaging school children in local history through video and other media.  Some of the pupils at Manor Primary school will already know Nicola from their WWI project.

Maria’s experiences are also in education but at the other end of the spectrum; secondary and higher education.  Maria has recently completed her PhD thesis based on a collection of 17th century plays held at Petworth.  Her experiences working with and organising collections will be invaluable as we transfer our own collection from their warehouse store to the Heritage Hub at Bridge Cottage.

For the next few weeks they will be getting up to speed on what is happening with the project but, once we have desks for them to get their feet under, they will be planning  the early rollout of our activities at Bridge Cottage.  Keep watching our website or our Facebook page for further updates and volunteering opportunities.
