Today we welcomed Year 2 from St Phillips Primary School in Uckfield for a workshop on ‘Uckfield Through the Ages’. We explored how Uckfield has grown and developed over history from Anglo Saxon times through to present day.

Year 2 pupils learnt how Bridge Cottage was constructed as a medieval timber framed house. They all then made their own model house and placed it on a map of Uckfield (pictured below).

Lastly pupils learnt how the walls of Bridge Cottage were constructed using wattle and daub. They all then made a wattle frame using some craft materials.
