Who Do You Think You Might Be

By Bob Cairns

Thursday 1st September at 7pm

This talk is aimed at those who might be considering tackling their family histories or who have begun to do so since the onset of Covid or are returning to research after a long gap. It will offer little for the seasoned researcher.

Bob Cairns, who chairs the Uckfield Centre of the Sussex Family History Group and is Convenor for the Ringmer U3A Family History Group, will share some of his 18 years experience. He will look at the golden principles of genealogy research and suggest how to progress from this to developing family histories. Along the way he will introduce the tools of the hobby and research sources, will look at the plethora of web-sites and talk about the quickly developing field of DNA analysis. He will illustrate his talk with examples from his own family history research. Bob hopes it will be a participative evening.
