New Three Arched Bridge Information Board

A new information board was unveiled on Tuesday, outside Bridge Cottage. It has photos and information of the old three arched bridge, built in 1617, that carried the road (now the High Street) over the River Uck. This bridge was demolished in 1859 and the top of the sandstone wall buttress can still be seen directly below the new board. The 1617 date stone from that bridge survives to this day, set in the wall on the other side of the road.

Thank you to Kier and UK Power Networks for sponsoring the information board.
