Who are we?

Uckfield and District Preservation Society (UDPS) is a registered charity.

UDPS was founded in 1968, initially to protect and preserve Nutley Windmill and to encourage interest in the local history and environment of the parishes around Uckfield in East Sussex.  UDPS is a membership organisation. The Society is an independent charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. UDPS looks after Bridge Cottage Heritage Centre in Uckfield, and Nutley Windmill on the Ashdown Forest.  Registered Charity number for UDPS is 1102573

 

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website, for example; when you contact us about products and services, when you book tickets for any of our events, when you join our mailing list or when you buy something in our online shop.

Use of ‘cookies’

  • contacting you about a loan or donation
  • notify you of changes to our services;
  • send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you. This is entirely optional and will only happen if you sign up to join our mailing list.

If you contact us about a query, donation or loan, or booking, we will only use your personal information to contact you in relation to the reason for your initial contact, unless you give us permission to do otherwise.

If you opt to join our mailing list we will contact you from time to time with details of upcoming events, products and other services offered. You can change this preference at any time by contacting us by email.

If you are a member of UDPS we will only use your information to contact you about membership and to send you a regular newsletter, unless you have explicitly given us permission to contact you about other things.

We have defined retention periods for all personal information which we review on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.
