An hour to look for Lake District names, schools, pubs a convent, brewery, post office and a newly-controversial old memorial. This hilly main road was built up once the railway arrived and adapted and rebuilt since. Country views west remain.

No need to book. Meet at 7pm outside Bridge Cottage, dogs welcome.
