Thank you to all the inspiring Sussex women (& men) who came to our talk this evening by author and historian Ann Kramer. We heard about the lives of many interesting, pioneering and inspiring Sussex women throughout history.

Interestingly did you know Marie Corbett (1859-1932) campaigned for women’s rights and helping children who had been abandoned in the workhouses. Focusing on Uckfield first she sought foster families for workhouse children and was successful in finding homes for all the Uckfield workhouse children.
