Thank you very much for your generous donations to our recent crowd-funding appeal in support of Nutley Windmill! The appeal raised the magnificent sum of £10,500, so when you add in the gift-aid many of you offered, this will cover much of the cost of the new stocks for the mill. Without these donations, the costs would have severely depleted the Society’s funds – as you can imagine, looking after Nutley Windmill and Bridge Cottage is expensive at the best of times, so your donations will enable us to go ahead with replacing the broken stocks, and bringing the windmill back into action.

The plan now is to fix the new stocks to the mill on 21 June, and then add the sweeps (sails) shortly afterwards. This will depend on several factors including the weather and the availability of the required machinery, and it may not be possible to do the work in that timescale, but that is the current aim. We will use the UDPS website and our Facebook page to update you on progress.
