We are holding an open day in Bridge Cottage on Saturday 12th October 2019 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, to which we invite anyone who has pictures or items relating to the shops in the Framfield Road/New Town area of Uckfield. We would particularly welcome anyone with pictures, catalogues, price lists and similar ephemera relating to shops and businesses. They might be about the laundry, a pub, post office, fish & chip shops, any of the shops in the area, the builders’ merchants, the railway station and goods yard or any other business. While we have plenty of relevant material, we are particularly keen to assemble more photos, pictures and ephemera for the exhibition.

Also, anybody who can describe the area since c. 1940 from personal memories (or who has a relative who can).

The revised date for the exhibition is 25th January to 1st February 2020 (closed Sunday 26th January). Admission will be free.
