UDPS Charity Shop Christmas Window Display

Have a look at our UDPS Charity Shop Christmas window display in Uckfield High Street now. Notice the beautiful antique ice skates hanging in the display which have a very intriguing back story:

Liz Penton shop manager says,
“These ice skates were donated in a tatty old box which, when opened, revealed a piece of fascinating social history. The blades were neatly wrapped in French newspaper dating back to World War II. The stories contain details of battles and atrocities during occupied France. We don’t know how or why the skater left France and travelled to England. We will probably never know. This window celebrates the unknown skater, the wonders of Christmas and good over evil.”
