Entrance hall display

Learn more about the history of Bridge Cottage

Next time you are at Bridge Cottage be sure to take a look at the new display in our entrance hall which tells the story of this medieval building and who lived here over the centuries.  2018 is momentous year which sees the centenary of the passing of The Representation of the People Act and the end of World War One.  Both of these events are marked here with our recent ‘Women of Wealden Suffrage’ exhibition and our forthcoming WW1 Centenary project.  Do you have a WW1 relative story to tell? Get in touch and let us know.  We are currently planning our centenary display here.

Uckfield & District Preservation Society look after Bridge Cottage in Uckfield High Street and Nutley Windmill, Crowborough Road, Nutley, East Sussex.  We rely on public support to fund these important heritage sites.  Membership to the society starts from as little as £10/year.

Bridge Cottage Heritage Centre plays host to a variety of local history and community events, and is also available for private hire.  See here for further details.
