Tudor Warfare from Hands on History

Last night we hosted a talk on Tudor Warfare by Martin and Daryl from Hands on History. Our guests watched as volunteers were dressed in full plate armour as would have been worn at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 and one of the archers who would have fought in Henry Tudor’s army. Next we saw a volunteer dressed as a soldier at the time of The Armada in Queen Elizabeth’s reign. We heard how the introduction of Guns on the battle field made full plate armour useless. Our guests enjoyed handling the weapons. Thank you Martin and Daryl for a fascinating talk.

We hold regular monthly evening talks on the first Thursday of the month. Please see our programme for future talks here: www.bridgecottageuckfield.co.uk/events
